How the Winners Win:

Voting takes place between the 7-14th of September.

The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by the Facebook fans, subject to image quality inspection by the Cervejas de Moçambiqe and Wild Mozambique panel of judges. If the images is not printable, then a printable image with the highest number of fan votes will be announced as winner. Category winners will be chosen by the panel of judges. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. Wild Mozambique will determine winner eligibility at its discretion. All decisions made by the judges are final.

Prizes:

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a fabulous 3 night stay at Massinga Beach Lodge
for two people sharing an Ocean Front Deluxe Room with your own private deck and splash pool. This prize includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. 

The prize excludes travel to Inhambane, Airport Transfers, Beverages and Mini-bar, motorised leisure activities and personal expenses. Terms and Conditions apply! The prize is valid for 1 (one) year and excludes Peak Season (so find out when this is) and is subject to availability. We regret, no children under 6 years of age will be permitted. 

Category prizes: 

5 copies of the calendar plus a hamper package from Cervejas de Moçambique.

 Who can enter the contest: 

The Wild Mozambique photo competition is open to any photographer for participation regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of the photographer’s jurisdiction allow participation. Prizes will be delivered within Mozambique.

 Which photos you can enter:

A minimum resolution of 3508x3189 landscape orientation is required in order for your photo to be entered, because winning photographs will be printed in the 2015 Cervejas de Moçambique Wild Mozambique Calendar. A maximum file size is 50 MB. Enter photographs within one of 6 categories, these must be taken within Mozambique, include a caption stating where the photo was taken and which category you would like to enter. You must be the owner of the photograph and photos previously published under non-exclusive rights may be entered as long as you still maintain the right to grant us a license. You must be able to disclose when and where the photo appeared previously, if Wild Mozambique requests the information.

 Categories:

  1. Wild Animal or Bird
  2. Landscape (Scenery)
  3. Faces of Mozambique (people’s faces)
  4. Colours of Mozambique (can be any colourful photo taken in Mozambique
  5. Traditional Agriculture (of people on their Machambas)
  6. Precious Water (fresh water sources and people using this resource)

Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimisation (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, colour and contrast, etc.) will not be qualified. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.

 Why are we producing a contest and calendar?

Your photographs are a direct contribution to community based conservation in Sofala Province, Mozambique. The Living Forest Endeavour for Sofala operated by Pro-Sofala Verde – PSV. We make conservation worthwhile to rural communities. See Life4Sofala.org and sofalaverde.org for more information on what’s happening in Sofala Province. Cervejas de Moçambique will plant 2000 indigenous trees and support 20 families in their efforts to tend these trees for a total of four years, beginning 2015.

 How to submit:

Between the 24th of August and the 7th of September, go to our Wild Mozambique Facebook Page. We will be using Facebook and Woobox as a platform and

Step 2: If you have not already done so, click "like" as shown here. 


Step 3: Choose either enter or vote at the top of this page, Choose enter to upload a photo. Choose vote to vote on photos already uploaded. Fill out the form with your email and name (we need this to contact you if you win). Enter a caption with where the photo was taken and which category you'd like to enter this photo into. See above for more info on categories. Then upload your photo and click "enter" at the bottom of the page. 

 

After you have entered your photo the "thank you page" appears. And you can share your own entry to your timeline from this page. Thanks!

Your Rights:

You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit -- including ownership if applicable. By entering your photograph you grant Life4Sofala, Pro-Sofala Verde PSV and Cervejas de Moçambique a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:

  1. Use the photograph on the Internet in support of our mission.
  2. Use the photograph in non-commercial communications.
  3. Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
  4. Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.

As conditions of this permission,  all parties named above will credit all photographs with the caption "© Person's Name" when the full name is available, or by the name submitted on Facebook.Your photo may be cropped in order to fit into the calendar.
